Look closely at the curved portion of the light fixture top, and you will notice the solar panels and the light sensors go all the way around the fixture, without the normal boxed and specifically sized solar panel. By bending the solar panels around the curves, the solar panels morph into the fixture, creating a larger surface area for the sun to reach. More solar panel means longer battery duration and longer light duration at night.

The solar carriage light, with a 19th century streetlamp architecture, is a bit smaller than some of the Gama Sonic solar lanterns, basically 6" W x 14" H. This size is perfect for one-story homes and garages, or on partial columns in front of your entrance. It has a Black Finish, is made from Powder Coated Cast Aluminum, and has beveled glass lenses.

Hardware is included to install the Topaz solar lantern three ways:

• It can be mounted on a standard 3" pole as a new solar outdoor light, or used to replace outdated technology and electric pole lights. It will fit on top of existing electric yard lights, or on your existing column, pillar and pedestal. The solar pillar lantern is 16" H x 6" W, including the 3" pole at the bottom.
• The Flat Mount with Base option can be bolted right onto your driveway entrance column or brick pedestal and pillar for added light at the front of your property. Mounted on a flat surface, the solar pedestal light is 15" H x 6" W".
• Mounts easily on your Wall at your entrance, garage, on your deck or patio. Just make sure that it will get around 6 hours of sun each day if your wall is under an overhang. The Wall Mount solar light is 14" H x 8" D x 6" W installed.

Although the Topaz carriage lantern has space for TWO batteries, it does come with only ONE battery installed from the factory. Here is a link to the 3.2V 1500mAh Lithium Ion Battery if you choose to purchase a 2nd battery for you to install.
